Our Ministry
Building night-and-day prayer since 2005
Our Ministry to the Region
The Prayer Room Missions Base, also referred to as TPR, is a developing 24/7 prayer ministry serving the Dallas/Fort Worth area. We provide the Church with a regional place of corporate prayer and training. As a para-church organization we want people to remain involved in their local church and actively participate in its vision while participating in weekly prayer meetings here at TPR. Our vision is to pray, worship, and seek God’s face together with believers from across the region. Our prayer and worship teams are comprised of members from dozens of local churches.
Our Focus
The center of all that we do at our missions base is our prayer room. Currently we operate 22 hours a day, seven days a week with live, worship-led prayer meetings. We endeavor to exalt Jesus night and day and to see region-wide transformation. We believe that there is power in praying and singing the Word of God and that God wants His Church engaging in consistent corporate worship and intercession. We use the scriptures as a prayer guide to help us identify the things that are on God's heart for our generation. While we are always willing to pray for someone’s individual needs, this is definitely not our primary focus here. Instead, we want to contend together for the big-picture items on Heaven’s agenda. A few of those are: to see revival in our generation, for Jesus to have a Church fully engaged in His purposes, for the ending of abortion, and for the fullness of God’s purposes for His people, Israel.
Our History
We began meeting daily for prayer on September 13, 2005 after the Lord spoke clearly to our leadership team about starting morning prayer meetings seven days a week at 5 a.m. Those meetings began rather humbly in the living room of our director, Brad Stroup, with just a few committed friends. We soon added a daily 7 p.m. prayer meeting, totaling 14 one-hour prayer meetings per week. We continued in Brad’s living room for three years and we learned a lot about what works and what doesn’t, about prayer, about ourselves, and about God’s calling on this ministry. During that time the Lord gave us direction that we were to become a literal night-and-day prayer furnace and that we were to contend for revival and for God to raise up 24/7 prayer all across the DFW region.
On September 13th, 2008 we moved into our first facility, a house that we purchased and remodeled. Upon moving in we went to two-hour prayer meetings and added a third set each day. That began a sweet season for us where we learned to be faithful with our little. It was also during that time that we started to see visitors come check us out regularly. We launched our first internships, and in just two year’s time we needed a bigger space. We leased a sizable storefront in central Arlington and experienced significant growth while we were there from 2010 to 2013. Mid-way through 2013, the Lord warned us that a season of difficulty and pruning was coming soon, and it did. For the next several years, TPR went through many challenges. While we were able to keep the fire burning on the altar as our priority, most everything else we were doing at that time was put on pause. This pruning also included us moving out of our storefront and into a local church that graciously hosted us for the next couple of years.
In 2015 the Lord spoke again that it was time for us to own our own space. Soon after, we were able to purchase and remodel a facility that we now call home. We continue to build night-and-day prayer here.
Our Core Messages
There are a few core messages here at TPR that have kept us running after Jesus together since 2005. These messages are our assignment from the Lord and our joy to preach and attempt to live out. In a few simple phrases, you could sum them all up as (1) intimacy with God, (2) urgency for the hour, and (3) the worth of Christ. As a result, we teach a lot on these themes and have a variety of resources you are welcome to check out.
Get Involved
Every day visitors come from all across the DFW area to attend our live, worship-led prayer meetings. We offer a lot of ways to get more involved if you’d like to. You can join a prayer and worship team, attend our weekly Encounter Service (for corporate worship and teaching), or take part in our conferences, internships, or part-time training schools. We would love to get you involved in a variety of volunteer roles. We offer the ability for people to join our staff with varying commitment levels. Our priority is that every person on our base serves in the prayer room as their first ministry to the Lord and then secondly in other capacities to help keep things running.
