History of the Prayer Movement

Currently a prayer movement is exploding across the nations, but this is not in any way a new idea. The scriptures tell us that God loves the practice of night and day prayer and that He has long desired for 24/7 prayer and worship to fill the Earth. Human history bears witness to this desire for extravagant worship and this series tracks the movement of night and day prayer throughout history citing many passages in the Word of God and telling the stories of those who embraced it. We will look at the prayer history of Israel through Moses, Samuel, David, Solomon and many others who continued the practice into the early Church, the Middle Ages and on into the modern era.

Unceasing

The word unceasing is unsettling; anything that starts and never stops is quite demanding. Unceasing prayer and adoration is the mandate of the Church; to give Jesus everything He is due. The unceasing nature of this calling ascribes His worth; declares His perfection and accentuates His infinite glory. Unceasing prayer is necessary, unceasing adoration is beautiful and unceasing prayer and worship is His prescribed will for us. It’s powerful to our soul and transformational to our culture; it’s both historic and future. Unceasing adoration connects Earth to Heaven; it consumes the living creatures around the throne as well as the houses of prayer scattered across the nations. This series seeks to unveil the glories, wonder of, and reasons for unceasing prayer and praise to fill the Earth.

TPR’s Prophetic History

In 2005 the Lord began to speak to us about establishing a prayer furnace that would burn brightly until His return; but He had begun to set things into motion for us long beforehand. When we began our part in the journey we had little idea about what was happening and what we had said yes to. Since that time the Lord has given us significant insight into His plans for us as a ministry as well as some clues about how those plans fit into His broader strategy in this generation. We recommend this series to anyone currently involved at The Prayer Room or who might be interested in us; it tells the story of how we began, the supernatural testimonies along the way and what He has spoken about our future. We’ve experienced divine confirmations at each stage in our journey which gives us hope for the things that we are still looking to see fulfilled. This series will guide you through our unique history, give you vision for our mandate and help you believe for the things we are expecting to see God do.

Seemingly out of no where, in many cases totally unrelated to eachother men and women in nearly every nation are beginning to the same pursuit; to cry out to God day and night until He comes. The aim of this series is to awaken something in us that the Lord is highlighting in this hour of history and allow us to see how it connects to His broader purposes for the Earth.

Building HIS Priesthood

The Lord has desired a faithful priesthood from each generation, a people set apart for Him, to minister to Him and to draw near to His presence. Throughout history there have been times when His priests served Him and other times when the entire priesthood was rebuked for their half-hearted service. It is the wisdom of God to raise up priests and the benefit of an entire generation to have them serving faithfully. The priesthood was always God’s idea; a people set apart to hear from Him, cry out to Him and speaking on His behalf; they are His ministers. This series looks at how God is again building His priesthood in our generation, calling forth faithful priests who will minister to Him in friendship and in worship and then out of that position they are to minister for Him to the people in intercession and in teaching.

Importance of Intercession

It is remarkable that God would be willing to share His government with us; perhaps even more intriguing is the way He decided to do it. The concept of intercession was God’s idea; the strategy He thought up for how to include the saints in ruling His Kingdom along side Him. This mysterious and beautiful approach to partnership greatly impacts our hearts and lives. Intercession first draws us into intimacy with Him, which transforms us, and then from that place of holy submission He anoints our prayers to see His will accomplished. This series gives an overview of the value and function of how the prayers of the saints on Earth partner with the purposes of God in Heaven. (Sessions are samples from various FSM course curriculum).

It will be the focus of this series to give a brief overview of the movement God has long had in His heart and which He has established at various times and in various places across the globe.

Making the House of Prayer Personal

In the midst of every opposition and the mundaneness of being in a prayer room day in and day out it is painfully easy to loose vision for the very thing that we are doing here; building and sustaining the house of prayer. This series is about keeping the prize in sight, revisiting the why behind the what of what we are doing here at The Prayer Room and attempting to remind our soul of the value of this costly lifestyle and peculiar place we serve God in. Normally, when we spend time casting vision we try and list off all the reasons that we should run into the house of prayer; in this series however our director takes a far more personal approach and describes what has kept him rooted in the prayer room for the past 12 years on a near daily basis. These sessions are the conversations that he has with the Lord and the tools that he uses to stir himself up and which have enabled him to build a history with God in this place.
